Concert - Chris Eckman & Band

Muanis Sinanović

Chris Eckman is a Ljubljana based American musician, composer, producer and label owner (Glitterbeat Records), who started navigating the music business as a member of the mid-80's Seattle music scene. His band The Walkabouts was one of the first acts signed to the legendary "grunge" label Sub Pop and later went on to international success due in part to two highly acclaimed mid 90’s albums released by Virgin Records. As a musician he has worked with a diverse group of collaborators including Brian Eno, The Tindersticks, as well as members of R.E.M and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. His last album "Where the Spirit Rests" was his fourth and follows in the footsteps of "Harney County"(2013) and "Last Side of the Mountain" (2008)  - which was based on the texts of the esteemed Slovenian poet Dane Zajc. Eckman is a frequent collaborator with Slovene musicians and the new album is anchored by Žiga Golob (contrabass) and Blaž Celarec (drums) and Jana Beltran (voice, guitar) who will join him at this concert too.
